PSYCHIATRY
Psychiatric services treats patients who have mental disorders that are, at least in part, treatable with medications because of the underlying organic nature of the person's condition.  Services include diagnostic assessment and the prescribing and monitoring of medication.
PSYCHOLOGY
Our psychologist aids clinicians by providing psychological testing, evaluations and psychotherapy.
COUNSELING & PSYCHOTHERAPY
A staff of over 30 clinicians provide individual, couple and group therapy to persons in order to limit and/or reverse the course of mental health problems with a goal of renewed capacity to function more effectively in work, relationship, and family life.
INTENSIVE PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION SERVICES (IPRS)
This intensive service is designed to help chronically mentally ill individuals work on problem areas of their choice in order to function independently and to increase the ability to perform a valued role in society.
PLAY THERAPY
Trained play therapists help children use toys to express themselves, to increase self-esteem, enhance social skills, foster positive family relationships, and aid concentration and academic performance.
HOMELESS OUTREACH (PATH PROGRAM)
One full-time Center clinician works with the local Iowa City homeless population by providing services at the Emergency Housing Project (EHP), Iowa City Free Lunch, and at the local Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP).  To view the intend use plan for the Path Program click here.  To view the Service Gap Analysis click here.  To view the 2007 Timeline click here.
SCHOOL LIAISON PROGRAM
Our School Liaison clinician responds to children with mental health needs through collaboration with the Iowa City Community School District.
SUPPORTED COMMUNITY LIVING (SCL)
Counselors visit individuals with persistent mental illness in their home to work on everything from grocery shopping and budgeting to cleaning and social skill development.
CLUBHOUSE
Also referred to as Outback, this building houses many activities for individuals with persistent mental illness.  Here, individuals interact socially, cook meals, hold groups and have a place to call their own.
FAMILY SERVICES (PACE PROGRAM)
Family services offer support to families with minor children in which one adult has a persistent mental illness.  Staff offer counseling, education, advocacy, and crisis intervention and may aid individuals in establishing needed formal & informal supports.
COMMUNITY EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
This contract service is purchased by employers to provide confidential help to their employees dealing with various mental health concerns such as substance abuse, marital, family and individual mental health services, legal and financial counseling and referral.
EMERGENCY SERVICES
Crisis Intervention is available 24 hours a day.
CONSULTATION & EDUCATION 
Staff are available for presentations to both private and public groups.  Our goal is to raise awareness, understanding and support for those coping with mental illness.
